What to expect as an interviewee

Last updated July 15, 2026

You opted in to a short voice interview for someone’s product research. Here is exactly what that involves, in plain English: who is calling, what is recorded, who hears it, and how to stop at any time.

Why you are getting a call

A founder or team you opted in with is doing customer discovery. They want to understand a real problem before they build something. When you signed up through their link and picked a time, you asked to be interviewed. That opt-in is the only reason you are in the queue.

Waarp is the tool they use to run the interview. We never buy, upload, or supply contact lists. Everyone who gets a call chose to be there. If you do not remember opting in, you can simply decline, and we will not call you again for that study.

You will be talking to an AI, and it says so

The interviewer is an AI voice agent, not a person. At the very start of every call, before any questions, it tells you it is an AI and that the call is recorded, in the same words every time. You never have to guess.

It runs a short, friendly conversation, asking about your own experience, not pitching anything. There are no right answers; honest ones are the most useful. If it ever helps, you can ask it directly whether it is a bot, and it will tell you.

What is recorded, and who hears it

The call is recorded and automatically transcribed. The recording and transcript go to the team running the study (the founder or company whose link you signed up through) so they can review what they heard and turn it into findings.

Waarp processes the audio and transcript to produce that summary, including automated analysis, and stores it securely. It is used for their product research. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you.

How long it is kept

Recordings and transcripts are kept only as long as needed to run the study and support the customer’s account, then deleted or de-identified. The specifics, including retention periods, your data rights, and how to make a request, are in our Privacy Policy.

Your choices, at any point

  • Do not want to take part? Just do not join, or say so when the call starts, and that ends it.
  • Changed your mind mid-call? Tell the agent you would rather not continue and it will end the call right away.
  • Want your recording deleted, or have a question about your data? Email privacy@waarp.io.

You are never obligated to answer anything, and stopping has no consequence for you.
